I want to offer:

  • all the plants in one spot
  • categories of plants
  • a test to determine if you REALLY can identify the plants of South Florida
  • a test to determine if you have knowledge about the peculiarities of the plants growing in South Florida.

Since I’m fluent in Java and ASP.NET, it is going to be really fun!  I’ll find Beta testers and chronicle my journey here.

I will be designing a series of programs written in Java to identify plants and trees local to South Florida.

There have been many books written about the foliage of South Florida, but I don’t know of any programs for handheld devices.  People can search the Internet, sure but the information can be spotty.

These programs, websites, and e-books will be co-authored by the owners of South Miami Nursery.  I will be in consultation with many local horticulturists and botanists.
